Speaking of whining and pissing matches -

Member Blog post · General

Can someone point me in the direction of a quote that allows for Death Matches between women?  I've read the first 25, is it in the newer books?  Enquiring minds want to know --

Personally, I cast my vote for the return of Picaroon to those who stamp their feet and gnash their teeth every time the subject comes up - Why?

For this reason:   when another issue captures their attention, and according to history it will, the ensuing drama that always follows will make it clear once and for all that the issue is hardly the island.

Some may understand this now - but perhaps an example would illustrate the point more succinctly.

But for now - the quote will suffice?

I am also of Scarlet Caste due to My Companionship with Judas. However, If I challenged a person to a Death Match or Honour Match what would that say about My respect for My FC. How would My behaviour reflect on Him. Would He even allow this course of action, absolutely not.. Never in the books does it give an example of a Woman issuing a challenge, it goes against the principles of the Natural Order, that which is is the tenet of Gor. ( Cont)

My question is this: the butthurt party threatens the other party. Butthurt claims to be scarlet caste. Other party isn't. Would this mean that Other party gets to pick a champion or do we move straight to the "rite of knives"?

A FreeWoman should know Her role. She is there to support Her Companion, not cuckold Him. Just a thought and My opinion.

ThieryWApr 20, 2016 1:36 AM

But which is which?

ThieryWApr 20, 2016 1:41 AM

You make to much sense Petra. This is new Gor we're talking about. It's evolved.

xPetraFWxApr 20, 2016 1:43 AM

Oh Thiery, Please give Me back the old Gor!!

ThieryWApr 20, 2016 1:48 AM

Robak~WApr 20, 2016 12:47 PM

A FW challenging another Fw to a death match is just pure disney..as fo the island.picaroon was never under the rule of Cos . These two idiots are just bored as no one wants to r.p with them.best just to ignore there ramblings and get on with the Gor we do...so i disagree with you oleander and say not to give in to them because they may do something else.let them rant and rave as much as they want...Petra you are indeed the voice of reason, well said as always Lady..

~stops for a brief moment glancing to the boards to read the posts. smiles seeing the motion in support of the ways of Old Gor. Turns slipping off quietly~

going back to the old ways

MemberApr 20, 2016 3:41 PM

for those of us who haven't been around long enough to know the "old ways" ( 6 years cant be considered long enough to know what Gor used to be like I'm often told) is there one of those fancy time travelling tarns that travels back in time so we can experience it?
It might be interesting to test it out and see if its everything people say it is then we can feel like we have missed something too !

I have never heard of DM or HM's between FW. However, What I have heard of, and is probably the nearest thing to the equivalent of a DM or HM between 2 FW is the " Rite of Knives ". I remember in role play back in the old days 2 Talunas arguing and the " Rite of Knives" was brought up on that occasion. The only reference to it that I have ever found is; Hunters of Gor , Book 8 , Page 314-315.

AjaxWApr 20, 2016 5:03 PM

“May I not remain a moment, Captain?” asked Rissia. She turned to face me.“Very well,” I said.“I ask the rite of knives,” she said.“Very well,” I said. One of my men held Ilene by the arms. She was frightened. Two daggers were brought. One was given to Rissia. The other was pressed into the unwilling hand of Ilene.“I—I do not understand,” stammered Ilene,“You are to fight to the death,” I told her. She looked at Rissia. “No!” she wept. “No!’ Ilene threw away the knife. “Kneel,” ordered Rissia.

AjaxWApr 20, 2016 5:07 PM

Continued : Ilene did. Rissia stood behind her.“Do not hurt me,” begged Ilene.“Address me as Mistress,” said Rissia.“Please do not hurt me, Mistress,” begged Ilene. Hunters of Gor, Book 8, Page 314-315 (( I hope this has been of some help. ))

honestly I dont know if this will help, but I found this page a while back, if its a lot more in depth when registered to the comm, It might, but there was a rules Forum made long ago http://gcngorroleplay.proboards.com/

Robak~WApr 20, 2016 5:43 PM

i think Ajax the rite of knives were only between the Talunas ..

BartApr 20, 2016 5:47 PM

Hey, so I am hosting a "bbq" on picaroon this weekend. Nobody knows about it until just now, but I am sure that Chaldea will be happy about it, all are invited, all are welcome, there will be fun and games and food and drink all supplied by Lydius from our general fund.

IskanderApr 20, 2016 5:57 PM

so you are blocking the hosting im doing? or when is this BBQ?

AjaxWApr 20, 2016 6:26 PM

You could well be right Robak, The question put by Oleander though was " Can someone point me in the direction of a quote that allows for Death Matches between women?" There was no stipulation of what kind of FW. I just knew of a past rp occasion and found and example of a facility for women to fight to the death and provided the information. Maybe though, Oleanders question originates from a situation or occasion in role play that is already being argued/discussed that I am not aware of.

Robak~WApr 20, 2016 6:39 PM

Ajax i wasnt disputing what you put ,i found it informative and i think Orleanda is meaning about Manon challenging Chaldea to a death match because of the claims to Picaroon..

Robak~WApr 20, 2016 6:40 PM

anyway tis good to see your old bones around again Ajax ..your one of the few around here that have my Respect

AjaxWApr 20, 2016 6:46 PM

Thanks for updating Me Robak, it makes things more clear for Me and I see why it would cause such crap drama. It's good to see you are around too old friend, I'll have to pop in sometime and raise a paga with you.

Robak~WApr 20, 2016 6:47 PM

your always welcome to drink my best Paga Old friend

WarrenApr 20, 2016 10:18 PM

There are no quotes supporting FW death matches. I suppose such a challenge could carry a risk of death if the recipient were to die laughing. Other than that I expect any FW so challenged would ignore it for the dribble it is. Panthers and Taluna are distinct from FW in the books. They do many things that FW can not or would not. That they both happen to be free is simply a shared characteristic outweighed by many different ones.

ThieryWApr 20, 2016 11:45 PM

So this will most likely go nowhere except counter clockwise down the bowl.

OleanderApr 20, 2016 11:55 PM

Thanks Ajax, and Robak you are correct as well, was looking for a quote to support the existence of a formal DM between standard-issue Free Women. The quote Ajax shared was between panthers - Ilene had been a snooty wench, and Rissia had decided to teach her a lesson - panther style. Taluna have something similar, but that's another conversation. Most women settled their differences in other ways - and for their own best interest, in a way that did not involve the men protecting them.

OleanderApr 20, 2016 11:56 PM

(cont.) The question of course, was rhetorical. I would think someone well-versed in Gorean culture (Manon) would be quite aware of this. I would also think people on the receiving end of such threats would realize the only reason they are made is to stir the pot for their own amusement/selfishness. In other words - Chaldea my friend, please don't feed the monkeys : ) Not even the jits!

OleanderApr 20, 2016 11:57 PM

(cont.) I would also like to clarify something - I am not actually saying that Chaldea should give in to the ridiculousness this issue always generates, I am saying if the "Island" were taken out of this particular equation, it might be clearer to see what/who the issue really is. But then again honestly, everyone probably knows this already. With the glaring exception of - well, you know. Anyway, thanks all for a drama-free discussion, good to see what I still remember hanging around!
