Of Invitations...

Member Blog post · General

I opened up my Wagon the other night and settled in for a bit.  A person I have known for a long time came in and invited me to their room.   This may not seem like an earth-shattering revelation, but when I visited, the discussion turned to the hot topic of the day, reclaiming Gor.

As I discussed this with them, in the forefront of my mind I am thinking - I wouldnt even be having this interaction if the person had not invited me and there were some really good ideas being shared - that I wouldnt have heard had I not come.

Though being acquainted with them for a very long time, I have other places I could have gone but I went there because - they invited me. Though being acquainted with me for quite some time, I wouldnt say we are "best friends" but they invited me anyway.

While I believe the guidelines are important - even essential - what are they within a community that constantly dismantles itself over pointless disagreements every day?

My point:   Proclamations (from any viewpoint) rarely build a community, but invitations surely do.   That's the kind of community I want to be a part of.
