Cookie Clicker is a fun incremental game in which you must click on a cookie. Cookie Clicker allows you to spend hours making cookies.

Every click results in a cookie! Soon, you'll be able to trade the tasty, crispy goodness for tools and helpers to make even more cookies at the same time. Hire grandmas to assist you, grow cookies on a farm, and do a variety of other things.

Cookie Clicker game blew up milk and cookie chunks all over the internet a few years back. It became so successful that Valve decided to create their own summer sale clicker game. It was a good time.

The gist of it is that you click, earn cookies, and then spend them on items that click for you. It's a very simple game. Idle-mania abounds. It serves as a metaphor for both addiction and avarice. Playing can be just as addicting as the sugar in the cookies we consume. Playing (or eating) is only followed by more playing (or eating) (and eating).

The game can be played by clicking like a baker (worker) making cookies. Alternatively, as a sort of capitalist, one can hire grandmothers to bake for them. Naturally, your capital is cookies. After a while, as all capitalists do, one becomes greedy and employs more and more people and bakes more and more. Workers become enraged when they discover you accomplish very little yet take far more than they do (class consciousness). This is depicted in a comical way by worm-like aliens from another realm eating your 'hard-earned' cookies. Only then can you intervene, crush the resistance, and bring your employees back into line. Ironically, as a result of your contempt for life, the other workers dread your draconian cookie regime, which creates more cookies. Will they rise up once more? Will they topple you and seize your production facilities?

The fee seems reasonable for reliving old memories, supporting the developer, and listening to some great music. It's a pleasant way to pass the time. I was famished after playing. I'll leave it to you to figure out what I ate.
