Buzzen and Gor.
Member Blog post · General
I've been away from Buzzen and Gor both for several years now, I've been back for just over a week and have noticed several changes in both; some for the better, some for the worse.
I'm not wild about the new Buzzen format, the pop up ads suck but they're part of what keeps the lights on; a necessary annoyance. Also, frankly, this server isn't as popular as it once was but that too is understandably unavoidable. Technology and tastes both change with time, there's no avoiding reality.
As for Gor, from what I've seen so far, there's only a handful of enthusiasts left here and we are scattered across time zones, and homestones. The few of us that do remain will not be enough to restore Gor to the glory days of the late '90s and early 2000s era of highly detailed text based roleplay. Here again, things change over time; some people pass on, some people walk away. That's life, and there's no changing the reality of it.
I have seen that there is some mild interest in Gor and would like to help shore up the pillars of our community, the question then becomes how best to do so. That answer is as individual as each Gorean themselves, because Gor is personal to each of us.
For me the answer presents a source of conflict because thus far in my current incarnation, my actions have not aligned perfectly with my beliefs. What I mean by this is that I have acted with the best of intentions, but in a manner that contradicts my personal beliefs.
I do not believe that it is ethical for me to take Gor into non Gorean homes as it would be inappropriate to foist my views onto others who do not share them, without their consent. However, I have been blogging Gor in an equally public forum for others to encounter without prior warning or expressed consent.
I cannot continue in this manner due to the inconsistency between my actions and my ethics. I must either add a content warning to my blogs so that people may choose to read them or pass them by; or, I must create a Gorean group and publish my work there.
For this reason I have decided to make my blogs private while considering what I believe to be the most reasonable solution to bringing my actions and ethics into alignment.
I would like to help inspire more interest in Gor, but cannot ethically do so without first resolving this conflict for myself. It simply isn't right for me to expose random people to the dark content of my own writings if they have no interest in such graphic depictions of life.
I sincerely apologize to everyone whom I have offended with my disturbing imagination. I will not publish further Gorean material without resolving this personal conflict of interest.

you can keep this comment or delete it ...its my own personal observation. Blogs are there to be posted by anyone for any reason as long as they do not go against the rules of Buzzen People have the choice to read or not read them because there is nothing on here that forces or obligates them to do so. Keep posting what you enjoy and those who share the same interest or enjoy them in general will continue to read them, the rest will pass on by
Thank you for taking the time to share your personal observation and to offer your opinion on this. It seems very reasonable and will be taken into consideration because it presents an insightful perspective that I would not have had the benefit of without your help! 😀
