Question for slaves..

Member Blog post · General

this one was told earlier today that serves and dances aren't much different. That dances are just another way to serve, while one agrees this is true, she can not say there isn't much of a difference between the two. The question is, ladies of the collar, "Are serves and dances different or are they essentially the same?"

this one is not saying the Free are wrong, merely that one's opinion is different.

Obviously going to leave the comments open, but one asks that the BS is left elsewhere.

yes dances are another way to serve, they are for the pleasure of the Free. However, in my lowly opinion, dancing make me feel more vulnerable. i am terrified to dance. in a serve, you know exactly what you are supposed to be doing, how it pleases the Free for it to be done, and if done correctly, the Free will be pleased. In dance you need to make sure that your story touches all the Free. All eyes are upon you, especially when you feel more vulnerable. you are baring your soul.

I get it. It's only the most nerve wracking thing a slave can do. To put herself out there in front of a few to a dozen or so people and express yourself through visual art. But why be terrified? We asked for it, we watched it, and we appreciate it. Really, most of us, at least appreciate it. Keep dancing, girls. Remember that it's an opportunity to express yourselves and a chance for us to get a look into your mind with hints via your body language. Or... Something like that.

Because i don't like the vulnerability that comes with it and i am not confident in it. In a serve i know what i am doing, i have a purpose and a goal. In a dance i stand there and flap my arms and sway my hips and in my head all i see is a demented looking vulo. How can that be pleasing?

heh I like demented vulos, I look forward to seeing this particular dance later Mine

kanati it helps with a dance if you have a story to tell, like showing your want or for a better word craving of your Free, some of the best dances are story telling, think of something you want to tell or show and make it your story, it is not all about swaying the hip or flapping the arms. The story is pleasing and whether your showing it to your Free or a whole room of Free they get the emotions your putting out. Dancing is scary but once you have a purpose a story they just seem to flow.

Walked right into that one!

lol you sure did. To answer the original question renee doesn't think a dance is like a serve, a serve is yours to do a task, but dance you can choose the message you want to convey, show your raw emotions, tell your story.

this one agrees with all the comments, it is terrifying even when a story is there to tell. What if your story isn't pleasing to the Free, what if the "demented looking vulo" is exactly what one looks like.. while this one is please that kanati has a Free that enjoys this, this one is relatively sure one's own Owner would not enjoy that. being vulnerable, expressing oneself in dance runs the risk of serious displeasing the Free one serves.

though one must admit, that when the dance is over and the Free stand to applause, whether in real life or in role play, it is an amazing feeling that keeps this one dancing.

the only thing you can do is put your heart and soul into it, the flapping vulo dance if done with heart can be a beautiful thing to behold! *grins*.. now i have the "chicken song" stuck in my head! LOL

The One that knows the heart of the slave that dances for Them will see not just the dance itself but the feelings behind it, the heart and soul. Every slave dances, some dance so beautifully it is heartbreaking to watch but there can be technical dancers who know the moves, can do the steps with ease but can't fill the spaces between them. Then there are some who have no idea about technique but can move with such passion, or fear, or whatever emotion they are trying to convey that the dance-->

itself becomes a work of art, far more impressive then just a flawless technician.

that is where knowing the Free you want to convey a message to comes in, i agree with shameena *if done with heart can be a beautiful thing to behold!*

If you think about it.a serve is series or actions that blend into one thing, same as with a dance its a series of actions, they both tell a story,,the serve say about bringing refreshment in a pleasing way same as a dance tell about something...oh and just as in a dance the Free in the rom may be watching the serve so not so different afterall,,

Which can also be said about anything, from combat/fighting to medical attention. It is all about painting the clearest picture in the minds of those possible about what is taking place. For the most part, the clearer the picture painted the more it is enjoyed.
