Updated policy on image uploads from our users

We have been forced to update our rules on what images are allowed to be uploaded by our users. This is to ensure we can continue to operate under the guidelines of our advertisers.

Along with these changes to the rules we have made certain sections of our website "members only". This means you must be registered and signed in to see them. This includes the blogs section and the user albums section.

While we don't agree with all the new policies we must enforce them in order to provide you with continuing service. Please read over the following rules governing image uploads and edit your albums as need. "Remember you can make albums private for friends only to view".

User Images/Albums:

Nudity and pornography

The following types of images are not allowed:

  • pornographic images, videos, or games
  • pornographic cartoons or anime (hentai/ecchi)
  • nudity

Sexually gratifying content

Images that are sexually suggestive and/or intended to cause sexual arousal. are not allowed. Examples of content that may be considered sexually gratifying include, but are not limited to:

  • close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches
  • sheer or see-through clothing or lingerie
  • strategically covered nudity (includes situations in which genitals are blurred out by camera)
  • images of men or women posing and/or undressing in a seductive manner

Fetishes and sexual aids

No promotion, selling, or discussing sexual fetishes, aids, devices, or enhancement tools.

A fetish may be an obsession or sexual desire in which gratification is dependent upon specific objects (diapers, food items, etc.), materials (leather, latex, etc), parts of a body (feet, toes, ears, etc.), or situations. Examples of types of fetishes and fetishistic practices may include, but are not limited to:

  • bestiality, necrophilia, incest, and voyeurism
  • role-playing, bondage, dominance and submission
  • sadomasochism, snuff

Buzzen may consider something to be a sexual aid, device, or enhancement tool if it is used for sexual pleasure and/or to improve sexual experiences. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • sexual toys such as vibrators, dildos, personal lubricants
  • penis and breast enlargement tools and/or medications

Buzzen may remove any image that violates the above standards. Buzzen also reserves the right to remove any image considered not appropiate for public viewing. Violating the image policies may result your warnings and/or removal of account.

 

We will be enforcing these new rules starting today!

That's cool. Can you remove the advertisers from My profile pages, chat areas and blogs? I think they are all in poor taste as well. Thank you :D

Does Buzzen realize that their own home page very likely breaks the new rules on images? I can provide a screenshot if you don't get about it I am pointing out. I don't think I can post an image on here. And the forums page seems to be empty and disabled

Forum is disabled and yes there will be images the violate the new policy. You have to realize there are thousands of images uploaded by users. We are a small staff. We are going through them as we can. We could have taken the drastic step of just deleting all photos. You need to realize that a) staff didn't upload these images. Users did. b) It wasn't our idea to change the policy. We are working on the situation and ask that users please be patient and understanding. This is a lot of work.

If we remove the advertisers there will be no buzzen.

I understand error what you are saying. I think you misunderstood what I was specifically talking about. This is not a user image on the photos page ... this is on www.buzzen.com ... I started a support ticket because I saw I could actually attach a file so I uploaded the screenshot. Check it out. I did not in anyway mean to imply you and the staff are not doing all you can and I think you guys do a phenomenal job, so ty

And as stated it was a user uploaded picture. It was displaying in the Active members online, and probably one of hundreds of pictures that go against the new policy. It will take some time to get through them all, and remove the ones that violate the new policy. Unfortunately we can not grand father the images from the old policy to the new policy.

What about removing the annoying advertisers, then you could set whatever policies you wanted? I'm sure the users could contribute enough to make the advertisers unnecessary. Most people have ad blockers and never see them anyway.

My comment here was lost... So I will post it again. Whats the use of having a "PRIVATE" Album option if it is not private at all! It may contain sensitive media but in my opinion, since it was supposed to be "private", you should stop taking it down. And how sure are we that our messages are private from you guys?

I only meant buzzen going over private albums. If they can do that, then their previous assurance of not getting into the messages when they have deleted it would be questionable. Since messages are supposed to be between the sender and recipient, that is, private. I am not dumb enough to not know that with internet its possible to know almost everything. If you will pry. All i am asking is for buzzen to categorize what really is private. And up to where are they suppose to apply their rules.

Even if the album is private the image can still be accessed by it's direct url and thus can pose problems for us if the image is linked anywhere that it can be indexed. We are 100% open about everything we do. To see this all you have to do is look at past news and our facebook. If we say we don't look at messages we don't. The only proof we have is our word and if that isn't good enough then there is little else we can do to assure you.

Only senior system operators have access to view private images ( private only means that people not on your friends list do not have access to it ) Only trusted senior staff members that have been with Buzzen for years have access to these pictures to monitor for things that violate the image policy. We have to do this to prevent things like child pornography. They now enforce the new buzzen image policy as well. We don't do this because we want to, but rather because we have to.

All members of Buzzen staff sign non disclosure contracts and a copy of their Legal ID's is required to work for Buzzen. We take the privacy of our users seriously.

Removing the advertising from Buzzen would be something the Owner would have to address. You can email him at jay@buzzen.com
